Columbia Housing Development Corporation (CHDC) was created in November 1980 as a subsidiary of the City of Columbia.  It is a non-profit IRS-designated 501(c) (3) organization. The CHDC provides quality affordable housing to attract and maintain residents–young and old– to help strengthen neighborhoods and promote community pride. Some of the neighborhoods impacted include Edgewood, Melrose Heights, Lyon Street, Martin Luther King, and Historic Waverly.
